abstract

chemical constituents of the essential oil of flowers of lavandula officinalis chaix. growing in isfahan, iran, were studied by tlc and gas chromatography-mass specrtometery (gc-ms) methods. twelve components which constitute 94.8% of the examined oil were identified. the main constituents were linalool (34.1%), 1,8-cineole (18.5%), borneol (14.5%), camphor (10.2%), terpinen-4-ol (4.5%), linalyl acetate (3.7%), α-bisabolol (3%), α-terpineol (2.2%) and (z)-β-farnesene (2.2%).

Chemical Constituents of the Essential Oil of Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl from Iran

The essential oil of Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl (Lamiaceae) was isolated by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of the plant, with a yield of 0.25%. The chemical composition of volatile oil was analyzed by capillary GC and GC/ MS. The main components were germacrene-D (13.2%), ?-phellandrene (12.7%), ?-pinene (10.2%), myrcene (9.4%), ?-pinene (8.4%) and Z-?-ocimene (5.8%).

The chemical constituents and biological activity of essential oil of Lavandula stoechas ssp. stoechas.

The composition of essential oil of the leaves of Lavandula stoechas ssp. stoechas, was analyzed by means of capillary GC-MS. The main components of L. stoechas ssp. stoechas oil were pulegone (40.4%), menthol (18.1%), menthone (12.6%). The essential oil of the plant was evaluated for antibacterial and a panel cytotoxic activities.
